Online booking for High-Security Number Plate (HSRP) and color-coded stickers in Delhi will resume from November 1, 2020. Transport Minister of Delhi, Kailash Gehlot met representatives of the Indian Automobile Manufacturers Association (SIAM) about this. It has been decided that the number of outlets where high-security number plates and color-coded stickers can be installed will be increased from the current 150 to 650.

In a recent public notice, the Transport Department of the Delhi government had asked the owners of the registered vehicles to get high-security numberplates and color-coded stickers without delay before April 2019. Color-coded stickers are required to identify vehicles based on their fuel type, with light blue for petrol and CNG and orange for diesel vehicles. They provide information on the redistribution number, the redistribution office, a laser-branded pin, and the vehicle's engine and chassis number. New vehicles registered after April 1, 2019, come with both HSRP and color-coded stickers.
