BMW has removed the curtain from the new iX electric SUV. This flagship car has come with a completely new platform, new design language and connected technology. The new car is similar in size to the BMW X5, while its height is almost the same as the X6. The grille of the car is quite large and it also serves the purpose of incorporating intelligent driver assistance systems including cameras and sensors. When it starts production next year, the SUV will also come with semi-autonomous technology.

The company is the first vehicle to come with the new IX hexagonal steering wheel, which is easier to use and gives the driver a better view of the instrument clusters. Interestingly, the seat-setting buttons are now placed on the doors like Mercedes-Benz cars. The car has a dual screen which is divided into instrument clusters and infotainment display. A rocker switch is used for gear selection, while the car also has a new BMW operating system.

The new BMW iX features the brand's fifth-generation all-electric powertrain using two electric motors to give a total power of 375 kW or 503 bhp. The car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in less than 5 seconds. The car can be fully recharged up to 70 percent in 40 minutes using a 200 kW fast charger. One minute charge car can be run up to 120 km. BMW is claiming a 600 km range according to Europe's WLTP test cycle on the car.
