The TVS Motor Company has handed over 25 units of the TVS Apache RTR 160 motorcycle to the Bangalore City Police, the company has announced. Boix was handed over by Meghashyam Dighol, marketing head of premium motorcycle of TVS Motor Company in the presence of Karnataka Home Minister - Basavaraj Bommai as well as Commissioner of Police, Bangalore - Kamal Pant. 25 TVS Apache RTR 160 motorcycles will be used for patrolling in the city and for the most part the stock will remain.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 bikes donated to the Bangalore City Police are its older generation models, which continue on sale with 4 variants. The motorcycle is powered by a 159.7 cc single-cylinder, two-valve engine that produces 15.3 bhp at 8400 rpm and 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 7000 rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

The Apache RTR 160 is one of the more reliable options on sale in the segment. However, there is no refinement of the new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, but the bike will prove to be effective for the Bangalore City Police Department. TVS Apache RTR 160 prices start at Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it Rs 5000 cheaper than 4V. One day, for the first time, Hero Motocorp had handed over 751 Hero Glamor motorcycles to the Karnataka Police Department.
