AUTO NEWS - Tata's New Small SUV HBX Spotted Again During Testing

Looking at the heavily covered cars, it can be said that production models are hard to come by before mid-2021

Tata Motors' new micro SUV, codenamed HBX, has been spotted testing again in India, and this time around, we've got a very close look at the prototype model. The new Tata HBX is scheduled to be launched in 2021 but looking at the heavily covered cars, it can be said that the production model is hard to come by before mid-2021. Yes, the HBX can be seen in this model with two tone alloy wheels ready for production. This is different from the test model seen earlier this month

The Tata HBX concept car made its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, and then the company said that the production version would be 90 percent similar to the concept car. Now, we will have to wait for the car to ascertain that claim, however, depending on the test model, we can say that the car will have a higher stance. While the covered car is not showing much, the new HBX will come with split headlamps where the DRLs will be lower, somewhat like the Harrier.

Although we did not get to see the back of the HBX in these pictures, but based on previous spy photos, we can expect to see small LED taillamps. The car is expected to be fitted with a 1.2-liter petrol motor, which is also on the Tata Ultros. It produces 85 Bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Earlier in September 2020, Tata had trademarked the name Timero in India, and we believe it could be the name of HBX.
