The sale of the all-new Force Gurkha has been started in the Indian market and its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 13.59 lakh. The new Force Gurkha off-road SUV can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000 and customers also have the option of changing the SUV as per their choice. For roadside assistance, Force Motors has joined hands with Auto Yeropa India which has 6,200 touchpoints across the country. In India, the new Gurkha directly competes with Mahindra Thar and when it comes to the price, the top model of Mahindra Thar is still costing Rs 1.10 lakh cheaper.
Force is offering a 1.5 lakh km / 3 years free warranty on this off-roader which includes Gurkha in-turn support with 4 years free service. The new off-roader SUV comes with a slew of design changes, all-new interiors, and a host of modern features for a premium feel. The 2021 Gurkha will probably start reaching dealerships by the first week of October 2021 and will start handing over to the customers from the day of Dussehra. The SUV is built in the same compartment-like shape as before and is almost identical to the model that was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Built on the modular architecture platform, the 2021 Force Gurkha SUV is designed for off-roading and comes with a host of key components for challenging terrains. The F-logo on the single-slat grille at the front has now been replaced by Gurkha branding, apart from LED edge headlamps with integrated DRLs and LED indicators mounted on the fenders. Force Motors brings new bumpers, fog lights, new snorkel, newly designed shark gill on the fenders, larger rear windshield, new ORVMs with khukri insignia, new black plastic cladding, rear door spare wheel, and LEDs on the 2021 Gurkha Taillights are given.
Coming to the cabin, the new Gurkha gets a midnight black interior with dark gray theme upholstery. The SUV gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in addition to navigation and mirroring with USB. It also gets new gear levers and 4 by 4 levers, molded floor mats, panoramic side windows, captain seats, and armrests for the rear passengers. In terms of safety, the new Gurkha has got many features like two airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, cornering lamps, one-touch lane change indicator, tire pressure monitoring system, follow-me-home, and lead me to Gurkha.
The all-new Force Gurkha is mated to a BS6 standard 2.6-liter diesel engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz. This engine makes 91 Bhp power at 3,200 pm and 250 Nm of peak torque at 1,400-2,400 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed Mercedes G-28 manual gearbox and 4 by 4 in general. In terms of size, the new Gurkha is 4116 mm long and 1812 mm wide, while its height is 2075 mm and the wheelbase has been kept at 2400 mm. It is available in 5 colors – red, orange, green, gray and white. Other features include telescopic adjustments, power windows, central locking, speed-sensing door locks, and rear door wipers.
