MG Motor India has expanded into the Hector SUV line-up and launched the Hector with the CVT automatic gearbox in the market. The 2021 MG Hector and Hector Plus facelifts have been launched in January this year, which have been introduced with many cosmetic and feature changes. Now for the convenience of the customers, the company has introduced a new transmission option. The new Hector and Hector Plus CVT will be sold in petrol engines with DCT variants. The starting price of the smart variant of 2021 MG Hector Petrol CVT is Rs 16.52 Lakh, which goes up to Rs 18.10 Lakh for Sharp variants.

The starting price of the smart variant of 2021 Hector Plus Petrol CVT is Rs 17.22 Lakh which goes up to Rs 18.90 Lakh for Sharp trim. The company has launched CVT variants of Hector and Hector Plus at the same price in the country. The company introduced the new CVT variant only a week after the MG Hector facelift was launched in India with many changes. The new CVT gearbox is made available in the petrol engine of the SUV, which is another option with this engine before the company made Hector Petrol available only in dual-clutch transmission or DCT.

The new CVT gearbox in the 2021 MG actor is given with the 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol model. This engine produces 141 Bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque, which has been sold with a 6-speed manual and DCT gearbox to date. Apart from this, the CVT option will attract those customers who are looking for an easy to drive SUV according to the cities. The CVT works much more cleanly than the aggressive and high-speed performance of the DCT.

In India, it will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Celtos, Nissan Kicks, and Jeep Compass facelift in the segment.
