2021 BMW S 1000 R Review, Specifications and Price ₹ 17.9 Lakh in India

BMW Motorrad India has launched the 2021 BMW S 1000R in the Indian market. The bike is available in three variants - Standard, Pro, and Pro M Spart. The ex-showroom price of the standard model in India is Rs 17.9 lakhs which goes up to Rs 19.75 lakhs for the Pro variant, while the ex-showroom price of the Pro M Sport of the bike has been fixed at Rs 22.50 lakhs. BMW Motorrad has opened the bookings for the 2021 S 1000R across all its dealerships and the bike will compete with the likes of Ducati Streetfighter V4 and Triumph Speed ​​Triple 1200 RS in India.

This is BMW's most expensive naked sports motorcycle which is based on the S 1000 RR. Even the engine, frame, and swingarm of the new bike have been borrowed from the RR model itself. The motorcycle gets an all-new design, new headlights with DRLs like the ones seen on the F 900 R and G 310 F. The body panels of the bike are all new which now gives a more luxurious look to the bike, the new S 1000 R has also become very good in terms of design as compared to the previous generation, especially in its headlight.

The new S 1000 R has been given a flex-frame chassis which is lighter and its weight is also less than before. The bike gets 45 mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock in the middle with a double-sided aluminum swingarm at the rear. Talking about braking, the front wheel has twin 320 mm disc brakes with 4-piston fixed calipers and the rear wheel has a single-piston caliper with 220 mm disc.

Talking about the features, the bike gets 6-axis IMU, Dynamic Traction Control, and ABS Pro in general. The bike has been given three riding modes - Rain, Road, and Dynamic. Apart from this, in addition to the self-configured Dynamic Pro Mode in the Pro package, ABS Pro with Engine Drag Torque Control, Power Wheelie, and Dynamic Brake Control will be given.

The E-Generation BMW S 1000 R is powered by a 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine that now makes 162 Bhp of power and 114 Nm of peak torque. BMW says that 80 percent of torque is available only at 3,000 pm. While the company has reduced the engine speed by 8 percent, the bike's engine now saves 8 percent fuel compared to earlier and it has also become 5 kg lighter. While the maximum speed of the bike is 250 km/h, it takes just 3.2 seconds to catch the 0-100 km/h speed.
